Knight ATV started the way most good ideas in this industry do: with a problem nobody else was solving.

Joseph D. Sgroi had been riding dirt bikes and ATVs since he was 5 years old, repairing them since 12, and selling rebuilds by the time he was 16. He took that lifelong obsession with powersports, added a Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering background, and got tired of watching electronic 4x4 actuators fail at the worst possible moment — stuck in the wrong gear, mid-trail, with a sensor full of water that had no business being anywhere near water. So he built a manual conversion kit for a Kawasaki Brute Force that skipped the electronics entirely. No sensors. No guessing. Just a lever that tells you exactly what gear you’re in, every time — which is exactly why he named it the Sure 4: because you’re always sure you’re in 4WD. That became one of the most trusted manual actuator upgrades in the industry, and one other companies have resold under their own names because, frankly, it works.

In 2014, Joe and his father, Sal, turned that first kit into a company: Sgroi Innovations. The same instinct that built the Sure 4 led to the
fender-mounted speaker — nobody made a speaker kit that mounted where riders actually wanted sound, until we did. As far as we’ve found, we were first to bring fender-mounted speakers to the ATV market, built to survive exactly what this lifestyle throws at them: mud, water, vibration, and long days on the trail.

That’s the pattern behind everything we make — the reverse tail light, the safebox phone case, all of it. We ride these machines ourselves. When something’s missing, annoying, or breaks too easily, we build the fix.
