Honda Flat Gaskets

The Combo kit with the electronic "puck" leaked. The flat gaskets were installed, as were the o-rings that were sent with the kit. After 5 to 10 minutes of a test ride, the unit leaked between the actuator unit and the electronic section; the puck. The unit was removed and Aviation Form-a-gasket was applied to all surfaces. The bike was parked for several days and it again leaked. I notified Knight and they sent out replacement flat gaskets and o-rings, free of charge. The o-rings were a smaller thickness, which I couldn't use. The flat gaskets were identical to the originals that had leaked.
To finally get the unit to seal, all surfaces were cleaned. Silicone sealant was liberally applied to all mating surfaces. The o-ring surfaces were then wrapped with plumber's tape to expand the sealing area. This method was sufficient to seal the front differential 90w oil.
Despite the insistent leaking issue, I would purchase the unit again in order to be assured that the bike would have 4wd.
I would hope Knight would either create a larger, flat surface for the flat gaskets to seal, or provide thicker o-rings to seal the area between compartments of the unit.
